SARA H. ARTHUR

Sara H. Arthur founded Arthur Law in January 2007 after 25 years with other firms in Annapolis. She has extensive experience with real property issues and has counseled developers, condominium and homeowners associations, lenders, building contractors, other business entities and individual property owners on a variety of issues ranging from development, enforcement of use restrictions, property rights, title issues, land use issues and contract negotiations, including the sale of property and leasing of property.

 

Sara represents clients in litigation involving contract and real property disputes, as well as collection cases. She also handles complaints filed with the Maryland Office of the Attorney General and the Maryland Commission on Civil Rights. In addition Sara has extensive experience in title review.

Sara is a native of Baltimore, graduating from Loyola University Maryland and University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law. Upon graduation from law school, she clerked for the Hon. Marvin H. Smith of the Maryland Court of Appeals. She then joined the Annapolis firm of Manis, Wilkinson, Snider and Goldsborough, PC  where she worked for 12 years and later practiced with the firm of Hyatt, Peters & Weber, PC for just over 12 years.

Sara is an active member of the Maryland State Bar Association (MSBA), serving as President in 2017-2018 and Treasurer for several years prior. Her other involvement in the MSBA includes Chair of the Real Property Section and Budget & Finance Committee of the MSBA. She currently serves on the MSBA Real Property Council.

 

Sara is a fellow of the Maryland Bar Foundation and served for several years on its Board of Directors. She also currently serves on the Board of Directors of Maryland Youth & the Law (MYLaw) as Secretary.

 

Sara is an active member of the Anne Arundel Bar Association, serving as its President in 1995-1996. She is also a member of the Baltimore County Bar Association.  

 

She served as a member of the Maryland Delegation on the American Bar Association from 2016 to 2019.

 

She also previously served as the first woman Commissioner on the Board of License Commissioners for Anne Arundel County in 2002-2003, as well as co-counsel though 2015.
